Artist Statement

2019-11-24-1585.jpg

Through making art I seek to process and embody my experience as a neurodivergent individual. In my paintings, drawings, and prints, I utilize a color scheme of black and white to compose a visual language that speaks to my struggles with the fine motor and spatial reasoning disorder known as dysgraphia. Having great difficulty processing and replicating both written and visual information, I present personal narrative in my work through charged symbols and stylized figures in turbulent abstract landscapes.
